Read here to find out more about what it is like to work at Work Solutions Gippsland as some of our employees share their experiences and thoughts with you.
After 20 years in the hospitality industry, I was initially employed by Work Solutions Gippsland in January 2012 as an Employment Consultant. I fully embraced the opportunity to place people with disabilities into suitable, sustainable employment.
I have had the privilege of being placed in a very diverse role where I co-locate to Mental Health Services; engage with schools and other services that benefit our jobseekers. This diversity has lead me to further my knowledge in the Mental Health field where my passion continues to grow.
Now, as a Service Delivery Consultant, I really enjoy working with complex mental health jobseekers and others to help them to overcome their barriers to employment and fulfil their dreams of obtaining meaningful employment and being able to contribute to society.
During my time with Work Solutions Gippsland I have always been fully supported by our management team and colleagues. I have enjoyed sharing my industry knowledge with other team members to help them grow so that they too can have the satisfaction of seeing our jobseekers lives being changed for the better.
I have been a part of the Work Solutions Gippsland family since September 2013, following 30 years employment in the hospitality field. I was looking for new challenges in my working life and the ability to support people in their everyday life.
I was attracted to Work Solutions Gippsland after reading their Vision and Mission Statements “To give every client the opportunity to improve their quality of life through employment” and “To identify the ability in every client and match each client to an appropriate employer”
What other organisation gives you the opportunity to improve someone’s life through employment.
It is very rewarding to be able to assist people, building their confidence to grow and to be able to cope with their day to day lives and enter the work force for the 1st time or following illness or injury.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the difference that employment can have on someone’s life and to achieve long term sustainable employment. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most inspiring people who motivate me every day to come to work and do what we do at Work Solutions Gippsland.
The most satisfying part about being an Employment Consultant is when you place a client into employment and you see the joy in that client and realise that you’ve made a real difference – it’s the greatest satisfaction one can have.
